Rewatching season 11 of The X-Files

My Struggle was just urgh such a bad way to start the season off unfortunately. Lol at the super unnecessary Mulder voiceovers, like you really don’t think you couldn’t have just shown him spotting that someone was tailing him, you have to have a whole voiceover of his inner thoughts to tell us what’s happening?! The car chase scenes felt weirdly

I often find that with Darin Morgan episodes as well lol, that it’s more all these random funny moments that stick out, while it’s harder to keep track of the actual plot. TLAOFS was basically just all about how we remember things differently and have different versions of the ‘truth’. They introduced Reggie as this supposed partner of Mulder and Scully who had all these versions of stories they’d been chasing up together XD

And same with Rm9sbG93ZXJz, it’s an episode that the critics all loved I noticed, but it seems to be more of a love/hate episode with the fans, with some viewers not caring for it at all. I thought it was cool to have an episode like that with Mulder and Scully having to deal with ultra modern tech though, it’s the kind of episode that makes sense to do in a modern revival

But My Struggle was really unfortunate :/ I wish they had just stuck with MotW cases as CC obviously cannot do anything with the mythology, and I think that’s what really soured things for a lot of the fans. And with both seasons 10 and 11 he was clearly trying to set it up as a cliffhanger, even after Gillian was led to believe that they would be one-offs, so neither really felt like they were intended as a series finale with the proper sense of closure
