I was just celebrating on 12_12_12's page. I think the actors and getting to go back to Stars Hallow/Connecticut world and the fact that the Palladinos are writing are enough to make it preemptively good news.
I'm thrilled that it's Amy's chance to end the story as she wanted to end it, finally we will get those final four words :D The recent reunion did get my hopes up already for a film as everyone seemed so up for it, but 4 90 minute episodes is even better than the film that I was hoping for, it will give them so much more scope!
myths of our youths, let's get back!!! Yep, I read the news this morning, and I've been both thrilled, because, really, it's Gilmore Girls, and Palladino haunted us in all her interviews about the 4 words she had always in mind to end the story with but couldn't, and sad too, because, because we'll not get Herrmann any longer, and it will be a piece of the family never coming back. And besides, he was Emily's rock, He was the one who struggled because of her and yet made her more "human"....
That is a real downer :( I'm wondering if they might focus the first episode on Richard's funeral and everyone coming back together for that, or if he will be written as having died a few years ago so that the emotions aren't so raw and immediate? It will be tough either way though, I can't help thinking of Emily insisting that she go first...
It will be interesting for sure to see Rory at almost 30. As long as there is no stupid Luke/Lorelai drama for the sake of drama, I'm excited. And I'm curious about Emily and her life now.
I'm guessing there will most likely be a L/L wedding for fanservice actually lol, it seems to be what the majority of the audience are expecting! And it will definitely be interesting to see Rory at almost the age that Lorelei was when the series began
Ausiello has since spoiled that all three of Rory's boyfriends will be appearing. I'm not sure that they really need Dean there tbh as he was Rory's boyfriend when she was only 16! But Dean did have a pretty depressing ending, so I suppose that will be nice to get closure there at least, but yeah my best guess is that it will be more of a cameo. It feels to me like Logan and Jess are the boyfriends who had the bigger impact on Rory's love life
That and of the three actors that played Rory's boyfriends, Jared is the one with the least amount of free time to offer to film a part in the mini-series. I mean, he's one of the two leads in supernatural. He can't just afford to give up on that for a few weeks to go film his Gilmore Girls scenes.
True, it wouldn't make sense for him to play a huge part in the episodes, although all of the actors should be up for returning still judging by everyone (well other than Melissa McCarthy) showing up for the recent reunion
nostalgia, people our age are starting to be in charge of programming, and they like to see their childhoood and teenage memories back on television and in movies.
