Just finished watching season 11 of Supernatural for the first time

Favourite episodes included Baby naturally. I’d already heard about how great Baby was, and I’m pleased to say that it more than lived up to expectations there with being an excellent showcase for the brotherly relationship between Sam and Dean, and so cleverly edited. I confess that I had already seen the ‘night moves’ singing clip a few times

I stopped watching my dvds after Baby so I feel I shouldn't read your post so not to spoil myself.

It is pretty spoilery, sorry! It can basically be summed up as I really enjoyed most of the MotW’s, but the myth arc kind of dragged for me. It seems like nearly half of the episodes these days are focused on the main arc, and that ends up being a lot when you have a 23 episode season

Are you planning on catching up with season 11 soon?

I stopped reading the post when you stopped talking about Baby. As soon as I saw an episode title I said nope, not gonna read any more.

I definitely will. I guess i needed a change of pace since I started from season 1 straight through Baby in season 11. I'm still looking to get my hands on seasons 12-15 as they become available and are at a good price :)

There are so many shows I need to catch up to and so many rewatch I wanna make.

I do wonder if maybe I wouldn’t have felt so burnt out if I hadn’t binge watched the season? I’m not really used to 23 season episodes as much any more I guess, so maybe it would have made a difference if I was watching weekly, instead the pacing really dragged for me after watching a certain number of mythology episodes all one after the other.

And I think that you should be able to watch them online if you wanted too. I was streaming the episodes on Amazon Prime, and I think they’re on Netflix in other countries?

Netflix Canada doesn't have the show anymore so I have to go another route. I'll figure it out for sure though.

I think back of The O.C. with it 26 episodes per seasons (except the last) and that's crazy!

Gossip Girl also 25 episodes for two of its seasons as well, and you definitely notice a lot more filler and awkward pacing in those seasons, it is pretty crazy.

I wonder if I would enjoy the latest SPN seasons more now that they cut them down to 20 episodes, there’s probably less of a sense of treading water then at least

I remember Gossip Girl. I didn't keep up after season... 2... 3... ? I don't remember. I stopped before Jenny and Nate were a thing. probably more 2 but, reading the episodes summaries of 2, nothing rings a bell so... not sure anymore lol

Jenny and Nate briefly became a thing early in season 2 :) Season 2 was one of the longer seasons at 25 episodes, but it did actually start of strong in the first half imo, it was again just towards the middle/end end that you start feeling like the episodes are becoming really padded out and the writers just don’t have enough storylines for that many episodes. Or it could be that maybe I just get impatient with all 22-25 episodes seasons as we get nearer the end XD I do get the feeling though that it was more of a network directive than a creative choice, and the writers were scrambling to find enough storylines to fill those three extra episodes

Oh ok, so I really wasn't far off when I stopped watching. Not even sure why I stopped because I actually owned season 1 on DVD. I don't anymore.

When I learned how the whole show ended, I thought it was crazy... how can Dan be Gossip Girl?

I guess they didn't know what to do so they pulled that one out of the blue thinking it would shock the viewers but it only left them confused?!
