The plot thickens.

It does indeed!

I'm so enjoying this story. Very well thought-out and researched. Fascinating stuff!

I'll be curious to see how freaked out the Colonials will get when they find out their long-lost cousins are monotheists, just like the Cylons.

I'll bet they're already a bit alarmed by the world reaction to their arrival...

Beat up my Betas (good natured ribbing). They have through chapter 10.

What CJ really wanted to know was why there were people dressed like dinosaurs in London protesting in front of Number 10 Downing Street. She supposed there was a cosmic significance to Barney, and she had no doubt that he was the incarnation of evil, but the symbolism seemed oddly misplaced to her.

That made me laugh out loud. :D

Ooh, plot thickens. Can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

That's a sort of oblique reference to the idea that earth based humanity is about to go extinct from the perspective of the protesters. They probably think the symbolism is clear, but nutty protesters, especially those in the UK, are usually pretty hard to follow from this side of the pound.

A few years ago there was an antiglobalization protest (I think in Germany) where people showed up with turtles on their heads. Hats that is, not actual turtles.

Now we're getting to the fun part. I imagine there are going to be some very interesting discussions coming up. I'm really intrigued about how you're developing the genetic relationship, and I hope you explore that more. I'm also curious as to whether you're going to explore the religion issues (I figure you will because of Roslin going to mass, but I thought I'd mention that I hope you do). It'll be fun to see how everyone reacts to those revelations, especially considering the Colonials know about the Cylons' monotheism. Loved the part about the protesters dressed up like dinosaurs, and the banter with CJ, Josh, etc. Can't wait for the next part!

The religious issues will continue to come up in the next several chapters and will be part of the gradual loss of trust and build up of tension. The genetic issues are part of the White House's growing distrust of Laura Roslin as well.

Gotta love anti-globralization protesters. One of them probably thought they'd be clever....

Still enjoying the story a great deal.

Loved the CJ/Toby interaction asking about the "thing" at the "place," and her comment, “He’s on a ‘calling things by their proper names’ kick. Next thing you know we’ll be going to Mumbai in two months instead of Bombay.”

Very them.

For a speechwriter his own vocabulary can be wonderfully limited when he's talking. My favorite line between them was in an earlier chapter when he wants to call them Colonials because that's what they call themselves and she asks if that doens't call up too many great western traditions.

Yes that was also brilliant. CJ and Toby were always my favorite characters. Toby would indeed be against making up a name to call a group of people that had a name to begin with.
