I agree: I don't believe in capital punishment, simply because death is too good for some people.
This child will have to live her whole life knowing what happened. Even if her body heals up perfectly, there will be major psychological scars. Simply speaking, her life as a normal child is over.

I think he has an illness, and cannot control his compulsions to rape and maim. He needs medical treatment, a chemical castration if that is the only thing which will stop him. He should not be allowed to mix with normal society, imo - if he's done it eighteen times, he is very capable of doing it again. Will they give him a harsher sentence if next time he kills someone? Will another person have to suffer before he can finally be put away? Idk.

To be drunk enough to not remember/not be responsible for your actions is different for different people, but I imagine to be so drunk - if not paraplegic - the thought process of covering his tracks, washing her and moving her would just not happen. Even if it was 100% due to alcohol, he should be held responsible, as he was the one who chose to drink in the first place.

It's absolutely fine, mango. I think so too.
