"Gather ye rosebuds while ye may..."
It never really sunk into me that I will be graduating soon until my classmate Marlene sent me this text message:
"Now is that time in your life when things seem to flash, at bullet speed, right before your very eyes. The events go by fast; so fast, they're over before you know it. HIgh school is now only the safety blanket you've outgrown but miss so much. Few weeks from now, college will be no different..." (18:32:07 2.27.07)
It seems only yesterday when I was still attending ROTC, when I had to wake up at 5 a.m. to get to school in time for Arnis practice, when I always brought my bokken to school, when I still had a crush on my PE classmate, when every lunch break was spent at Lisa's canteen together with my fellow Mice, when I thought joining university-wide organizations was a ridiculous idea, when I had spiky hair, when every afternoon was spent at the IPMAF dojo, when the "Pampanga's Best" joke made me laugh everytime, when my friend Pete lost half a tooth to a bus windshield, when I had a not-so-secret admirer, and when I was stuck in an elevator with 10 other classmates and couldn't help but pass gas.
So many things I'll miss, so many people to thank, and so much to look forward to... But I'll save those for another entry. Or two.
