Updates and whatnots
Hey everyone! I have been pretty absent from LJ recently, but I'm much more active on Twitter these days. Follow me.
Life in South Bend is generally boring, but it has become a bit more tolerable in 2009 than it was in 2008 (for me, anyway). Working about 40 hours at Better World Books in the quality assurance department, and about 10 hours at Barnes & Noble in the music department. Been investing in some new music gear, such as the Akai MPD24 MIDI controller, and my first set of DJ decks, the Hercules RMX, which just arrived today! (shiny below):
So why do I need decks when I'm not even DJing, you ask? Well, because you're wrong - I AM DJing! =) South Bend now has its very own live industrial showcase called SYMBOLIC (myspace.com/brokenframeproductions), which I am the resident DJ for. We don't have another date set up just yet, but as soon as I know when it is you will hear about it. We intend for it to be a regularly-occurring gig at Truman's (a GLBT bar which hosts drag shows on the ground floor and more general audience events, such as Symbolic, on the second) - probably one of the nicer bars in South Bend. Please come out and support if you're in the area! (Again, once I know the date for the next one, I'll post)
Also, I just bought plane tickets for a visit to LA from October 1-6, and to Seattle from October 7-11. So if anyone wants to meet up in either city, please let me know in advance! Greatly looking forward to spending some time away from the midwest.
There will be some surprises from Freeze Etch in the near future. Stay tuned!
