Also, if you don't know him-- Adam Duckworth, who does the Goth shows at Axis and The Hospital is one wickedly smart (academically as well as otherwise) dude and he'd be great either on a panel or as someone to introduce an event. Joan
HA, wow! Not entirely accurate, but even so... What is this in reference to? Anything specific or just general name-dropping? I actually have plans to go meet with her very soon...
I had emailed her about a panel discussion (two actually) that we're putting together for this year's Dark Carnival. I wanted to get CMCL involved (and will get Gender Studies in on it too), and was hoping that she' d be interested in a partnership and in moderating a panel about women & their role in horror cinema.
Ahh, I see. Well, there is a significant amount of uncertainty at the moment surrounding what my living situation will be like beyond June, so my participation in DC 2.0 all hinges on that. Though of course, if there's anything I can do in the meantime, do feel free to poke me! (Though not too hard plz.)
I totally hear you on the uncertainty of the living situation aspect-- the guys all know that I may move during the summer (or sooner), but that I'll come back for the Festival.
If you ever want to come to the screenings, I can totally forward you info on them. They haven't started yet, but I do think it's the most fun part of the festival (watching, voting, mocking, etc.).
