holiday weekend and dodging storms and sickness
finally a long holiday weekend, and boy did I need it!!! Saturday I was beat from the weekend so slept in and then spent the day catching up on news, bills, emails and tv. Sunday I worked on the pool and played some xbox since I really needed down time. Got word from Jonathan and Patrick that they had arrived but I decided to put them off until monday since it was a holiday. Monday I got up early and was down to Hollywood Studios and met up with them by 11. Crowds in the parks were light so we actually got on alot of rides both there and in Magic Kingdom. We even got on Toy Story with only a 40 minute wait and hit muppets nad star wars before lunch. After lunch we bussed/monorailed on over to Magic Kingdom and did just about everything that I like to do there, esp since the lines were so short. Space Mountain 20 min wait?! O-o Got to see the new/old Tiki room and even Hall of Presidents which I had actually never seen. By 6 or so we had hit everything in MK so we trekked back on over to Studios since Patrick wanted to see Fantasmic, had trouble finding a place for dinner and finally ended up at the sci-fi dine in which was a first for me...food was ok but nothing special. So after dinner and a really fun holiday day with old friends I headed for home.
Tuesday got up and acted like it was my normal monday heh ie conf calls and phone calls. Confirmed with my account in Birmingham that they were actually open since a tropical storm had just passed over them. got word back that they were go so I got down to the airport and away I went. Made it to Birmingham and Hertz gave me some monster chevy SUV heh nice enough of them I'm sure it was because of the rain but boy that thing was a wide ass boat and it could not turn for crap! heh. The weather was surprisingly cool, down into the high 50s/low 60s at night which was nice, guess summer has finally broken a bit. So spent wednesday and thursday in the account and it was a really good visit, they should be able to get going quite soon now. Flew back home thursday night and got in around 1am and crashed.
Friday I woke up around 10 and ughhh I was congested. CRAP!!! So not only was I tired but I was feeling sick and I still had to spend most of the day working because of all the fires popping up. I was just at MCG 2 weeks ago and now I was troubleshooting an issue for them again already! I finished everything up and still managed to put in 40 hours in a 4 day week :-/ Unfortunately I was sick all weekend so couldn't do much besides lay around and watch tv and play some games...I just had no energy. What really sucked and pissed me off was that I missed a whole slew of social activities because of it :-( mark, john, jim and aaron went to aquatica on saturday and I was supposed to go to that but couldnt and david+Keith had a movie night saturday night that I skipped as well. there was something else on sunday but I just couldn't bring myself to any of it, too tired and didn't want to risk infecting everyone else. meh that sucked!!!
