TFP - 2x07 - Crossfire

Man, I haven't posted anything in ages. I meant to post about the Chuck finale, one of the Clone Wars arcs, how I got into Mass Effect, and numerous other stuff. But I'm FRICKIN' LAZY! I can't help it. :)

Allrighty then, so I really enjoyed this episode. I can't decide if I loved it in spite of  that thing that happend or if that made it even better. Ahh, it certainly was a rollercoaster ride. Keep it up Prime! No more clunkers like Orion Pax 3!

  • Wow, Airachnid has that passive-agressive insult/compliment thing down pat. Soundwave's definitely not amused though.
  • "I know we have never seen eyes to eye. But that doesn't mean we can't patch things up." Outpunned right before you-know-what. Man, this shit is just cruel. :(
  • "Or did Megatron invite you on one of his field trips?" Heh, nice callback to Rock Bottom.
  • I kinda digged that lifted Orion Pax scene. I would enjoy a running gag with wounded Starscream trading info for medical help the same way over and over again.
  • Epic Megatron gladiator fight. 'Nuff said.
  • I got a laugh out of Optimus crediting Starscream for orchestrating that cave setup. Come on, Optimus! He did no such thing! I just wish he was that smart.

All right, onto the more serious stuff.

Oh, Breakdown, poor, dismantled Breakdown. I wanna say I loved him to pieces, but yeah, you get the picture. :P

Knowing that somebody would bite it soon I'm actually pretty okay with this. Well, if it had to be a Decepticon that is. Don't get me wrong, I liked him, I just like the others more. Except for Airachnid, but I'll get into that later. I'm sad that we will never get a really great BD/KO focused episode though. I think they missed out on fleshing that partnership out. The seeds were there for something great but oh well...

Some people seem to be unstatisfied with the lack of character reactions so far to the death, but I don't really get the discontent, not yet anyway. I think right now only Airachnid, MECH, Megatron, Dreadwing, and Soundwave know that he's dead. Airachnid's reaction is clearly displayed as delightful glee as she mentions it to Starscream. Even the MECH soldier rubs in that their efforts yielded a familiar face, which is funny but also adds salt to the wound. Megatron doesn't care, but that's consistent. If you get killed it's your own damn fault! I don't know if Soundwave cares about it one way or another, but like that's gonna show anyhow. And Dreadwing is new, didn't really know BD, and is probably more busy with deflecting Megatron's ire at the time. So yeah. I didn't have a problem with it. Now, if it won't be addressed (*cough* Knock Out *cough*) at all later - which I fear could totally happen - then I will be disappointed too.

So, Airachnid. She's grown on me. I didn't care for her at all in her first two episodes. But since she joined up with the Cons I actually started to dig her. In a love to hate way for sure, but I'm entertained when she's on screen and I enjoy her interactions with the other characters (sans Arcee). A fair warning though, I do want her to die a horrible gruesome death eventually. Just not right now. Wait a season or two before she gets her comeuppance, or not. I'm fine either way. :)
