McVitie's are responsible for some excellent biscuits, right? Most especially the Chocolate Hobnob.
Anyway, today I wanted to break a note to pay for a bus fare, so I hobnobbed into Night Owl to make a small purchase, and discovered that McVitie's also make Gingernuts.
I can now tell you that these are the best biscuits in the world.
Arnott's gingernuts are pretty good, but they are not as good as McVitie's Gingernuts. Let me take you through the experience.
McVitie's Gingernuts come in an inviting orange packet. The ends are not pasted flat but crimped together in a highly aesthetic manner much like a packet of spaghetti.
The biscuits are not tightly packed, and are lighter in colour and thicker in width than Arnott's gingernuts.
These special qualities of the biscuits, combined with the slight ease afforded by the packet, make taking a biscuit from the packet a snap.
And the taste: the first thing you notice as you bite into a McVitie's Gingernut is ginger; the delicate, tantalising smell of ginger; and then the satisfying crunch that is the signature of top quality biscuits.
Only from McVitie's...
