getting warmer

I'm halfway into my 1st 7 day work week in quite some time. Doing alright, taking naps when I get home every couple of nights but I'm adjusting. I had a pretty awesome night last night with some buddies over bbq and am taking it easy tonight.

I was replying to an email from my boss at the segway company last night, thinking about money and threw a line into the air. My co-workers have been after me from pretty much week three to start doing tours. I was always non-committal about it and said 'maybe someday'

When I started there, I knew it was going to be a challenge to my personality. I am asked to be vibrant and happy, talkative, just really excited but not in a false way. It was an adjustment for sure, going from slouching, feet up on the desk to hey! how has your visit to San Francisco been?

Don't get me wrong, I'm still me. I get the peoples paperwork done and hand them off to the tour guide pretty much. I'm still pretty shy and only REALLY converse with people whom I get those vibes from. Most of it though is a conversational script. It's easy, sorta fun actually making words come out in long strings to an attentive audience.

So last night I'm thinking ok, I need money. I need honestly a few grand to really be comfortable. I have to move, fly to gainesville, pay for some college and books, this is gonna be rough. How can I make some more money and not work myself to death?

Thinking ok, I could fill in on the 6pm-9pm tour a couple nights per week after a 10am-4:30p shift at opentable, I dropped a line to my boss to see what she thought.

I'm covering some hours for her tommorrow so she's going to come in and talk with me about it. It would be an exercise in openness to be sure. I need to get a lot better at riding a segway first, then learn all about these destinations, and be able to answer questions without thinking. It will be tough, but then that's sorta one of the reasons I want to do it.

ALMOST done with new fafsa's..let's see if I can follow through this time.
