I saw Hairspray this weekend with my parents. It was so awesome! Well, it was kinda cheesy, but I liked it cuz it was set in the 60's, had fun and upbeat 60's-ish music, was very funny, and the main character reminds me a lot of myself. She even has my hairdo, which I find amusing since it's set in 1962, so I guess that proves that I'm just a tad behind in style. Oh well. I ended up buying the CD and a T-shirt.
I didn't get around to swimming yesterday because I was shopping for stuff for the Pagan Society with Rob, Laura, and Keith, and that took a little longer than expected. That was a lot of fun, and I got 3 books that I'm very happy with. I got a spell book, a palmistry book (because I can never have enough of those), and a Pagan craft book called "Witch Crafts: Projects for the Creative Pagan". As soon as I saw it I knew I had to get it, because I'm Pagan and an Art minor (possibly major). I don't think there's been a Pagan Society board meeting yet when I didn't suggest doing some kind of craft. We went to a diner after the Pagan store, where we had some very interesting conversations about Paganism, education, behavioral sciences, the arts, and a bunch of other stuff. We all got along really well, which was a very nice change from the board meetings this year that have had a lot of friction. But thankfully everyone seemed to be over the past board meeting. Then we dropped off Rob and Laura, Keith and I went to the Rag Shop to get some supplies for a craft we're doing at the next Pagan Society meeting. I found some really pretty black lace that I'm going to use as part of my Holloween costume (which I'm not going to tell you guys what it is, because I want it to be a surprise). All I can say is it's going to be awesome (that is, if I can find a shirt to wear). It was my 1st trip to the Rag Shop, and I was very pleased. I'm definitely gonna try to go there again sometime, maybe just to browse. It's a fun store, and a lot better than Joanne's (the craft/fabric store near my house).
I'm really enjoying having a more active role in the Pagan Society this year. Last year I was a regular member, and this year I'm the librarian and I also do a bunch of miscellaneous stuff for the club. Helping to lead a club I'm finding is a lot of fun and very satisfying, and I think it is also pretty good experience for when I eventually become a teacher.
Sorry if anyone went swimming and was expecting me to be there. I heard that a few people went, so at least it wasn't like one person feeling very lonely. How would you guys feel about swimming on Thursday anytime or Friday morning or early afternoon? I'm going home for the weekend sometime Friday afternoon, and I feel bad that I keep on suggesting swimming and never actually get to go myself because I've been busy every Sunday so far. If that sounds good, are there any preferences for specific times?
For some reason, all my midterms are BEFORE reading days (ugh), so if anybody is wondering why I've disappeared, it's because for the next few days I'll be spending most of my free time in the library studying. Actually, I probably should be studying right now, but I just finished an exam and I need a break. I took my Intro to Psych test this afternoon, and I think I did a pretty good job on it, especially considering I only got 2 hours of sleep last night. I struggled a bit with the biopsych section, but that was to be expected since biology (and most sciences, for that matter) confuses the hell out of me. I found the other sections really interesting tho, especially the ones on learning theory and sleep/dreams. I'm such a nerd. You're not supposed to actually enjoy taking midterms.
Laura, I know it seems kinda silly for me to be posting this on LJ instead of just telling you, but I keep on forgetting and I think I'll never get around to telling you if I don't say it right now: I'm sorry I ate all the cheese. I promise I'll let you have some this time.
