This was so ridiculous.
Kate had been pacing about her room for an hour, turning her closet, drawers, and piles of laundry inside out in search of anything in her wardrobe vaguely suitable for dinner. Well, dinner as in dinner date. With a vampire. Who was also over a hundred years old and probably had a very different idea of formal than she did.

Wrong century - sadly.
With ten minutes to go, Nikola decided to stop fussing and work up the nerve to head down to Kate's room. He waited outside the door for a few minutes, not wanting to appear too eager by being overly-early.
At a respectable time, he took a deep breath and knocked on her door - figiting one last time with his scarf.

"Hey", she said casually, stepping out and shutting the door behind her. "So...think Magnus would flip if we took the Camerro?"

"Please, I could boost a Camerro in my sleep", she grinned deviously, realizing that they were, for any seeing eyes, walking arm and arm through the Sanctuary,
"Plus, we've already earned like...six Magnus disapproval points tonight, why not go for bust?"

But no, apparently some of Declan's crew were trailing something through the catacombs of Paris and Helen wanted someone there to show them how it was done.
She'd protested-lightly, mostly concerning how all the french she spoke was the kind you couldn't say around children. But relented in the end.
Her flight left the next morning. She'd landed in the Sanctuary by early evening, ready to get this over with.

He had been expencting the werewolf - or Ashley. He had certainly not been expecting to look up and see Kate standing in the doorway of the foyer.
"Evening..." Nikola said carefully, still reading through the pile of mail at the front of the Sanctuary (not his mail).
"What brings you to Paris?"

"Cleaning up your mess, apparently", She snapped darkly, pushing past him, "Again."
