Kate didn't like small towns. She wasn't a small town kind of girl, never had been. She'd spent most of her career, and life hopping between one big city and another. Chicago, New York, Montreal, everything in between was just travel time. She wasn't sure what it was about small towns that made her twitchy, maybe it was the familiarity of it all.

Looking around the bar, Dean seems to be sourcing everyone out. He finally settles on Kate, grinning at her when she looks up. He'll get round to the whole coming on to her thing but first! Beer!]

She shifts in her seat, letting their eyelines mingle for a total of three seconds before turning her attention back to the last line of dark liquid in her shot glass.

She slid off the stool, moving over to the bartender and smiling boy over there, and slapped her fake, but exceedingly realistic badge on the counter, "US. Marshel, mind if I cut in here, boys?"
