While having a true purpose to coordinate the next step of humanity's evolution, the intent is not to be viewed as a superior race, but to work for the betterment of mankind. To that end, it doesn't matter if your genes are enhanced or not: if you work to better humanity, then you are a true Coordinator.
But that next step of human evolution remains an unknown, and that ideal was not shared by the world on either side of the situation.
