Food in a basket
Our department open house was tonight, and we always have a silent auction, so tonight I came home with an obscenely large basket (like, the size you use when you pick apples) full of gourmet foods like feta stuffed peppers and tropical salsa and whatnot. (The students do really good drumming up donations, and the textbook reps usually produce the best stuff, like this basket--thanks, Cengage!)
In it was a chocolate bar. With bacon in it. I ate two squares of be-baconed dark chocolate, and y'know, maybe my palette isn't that gourmet. I... I didn't like it. I feel like I should, but I just felt weird, like those two things shouldn't be in my mouth at the same time.
I dunno. I know people go nuts for it. One of my colleagues was super excited over it, and I think I will just give him the chocobacon at tomorrow's meeting.
Maybe I'll trade him for his sandwich.
