I have had, all in all, a pretty successful semester as a professor. I had a couple of conference presentations. I was very active in the University community (and ultimately may become the faculty advisor to a sorority). I got a great evaluation from my colleagues. My first honors thesis advisee defended his thesis with flying colors.
And I got nominated for a teaching excellence award by a former student.
I didn't win, obviously, because if I had, that shit would be plastered across my journal, but she randomly stopped by my classroom this morning before we started to show me the letter she sent. If I hadn't had such a horrific cough and subsequent headache, I might have cried a little. It was such a surprise and so flattering.
It's good to know that there's at least one person who thinks I am as awesome at my job as I think I am.
Also, Anthony Starke follows me on Twitter now (as he does several of you). To clear my conscience, I did tell The Fiancé. And then my brain exploded, because how often does your celebrity crush follow you on Twitter?!?!
Man. I wish I hadn't tweeted so much about poop and sex and having my period now.
