The answer is one, but the real question is, how LONG did it take her?

Missy: Hi! Sorry I'm late, I had to change a lightbulb and it took me awhile to get it.
Terri: How many professors does it take...

I always assume that the last third of the semester will be the best. After all, it's the home stretch. I'm pretty much done revising any lecture notes, finding new and potentially exciting activities to do in class, creating study guides and exams... But I forget. I always forget. The last third of the semester is also when EVERYBODY wants you to do something.

"I won't be here next week, so can I take the exam early?"
"I'm stuck in the airport. Can I make the exam up later?"
"We need people to serve on this committee."
"Oh yeah, there's a department thing on Friday. And next Thursday. And two weeks after that."
"I forgot about this until last weekend, but I need a letter from you for my thesis. And it's due Wednesday."

Nevertheless, I am still alive and saying stupid things to get laughs, which, if you are wondering, does indeed extend to the classroom. Sometimes, I even say them intentionally.

I miss posting every day. You might not, but I do. Ah well. Five more weeks and then... well, and then I teach that one class in the spring semester, but five days a week off is a lot more free time than three days a week off. So be prepared.
