I did indeed go next door and surprise my old Spanish teacher. I asked her the dreaded question that teachers hate: "Do you remember me?" And I was shocked when she looked at me blankly, then smiled, and said "Missy!"
I AM TOTALLY MEMORABLE. Plus my mom worked with her for years. That probably helps.
So the first week back is over, and I feel much better. If teachers ever tell you they don't get nervous, they are lying liars.
I had lunch today with two other teachers--my mom and her friend Ruth. Ruth asked me if I worked a normal five-days-a-week schedule. My mom scoffed. "Tell her your schedule, Missy."
Can I help it if I have Fridays off? And Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons? I've said it before and I'll say it again. "I worked my ass off for thirty years so I could sit on it for thirty more."
Soon I will reply to comments, and be more normal, and have funny stories. Right now, I have to go to Staples. Which I guess is a pretty normal thing to do.
