I am really enjoying Wii Fit. I am particularly in love with Hula Hoop, which you don't realize is such a great aerobic activity until after you're done and you're standing there panting and sweating. In fact, I have lost two and a half pounds, although I think that was because when I first weighed myself on it three days ago, I was retaining water like the Hoover Dam.
That being said, the Wii Fit Balance Board likes to insult me. The first time I got on it? It said "oooh!" in the way that you would say, "oooh, this is really heavy!". It does this most times I get on it, although sometimes, it has simply said "oh" as if acknowledging me, and twice it has said "great!" like it was trying to make up for the insults.
The aerobic stuff is either kind of boring (running in place?) or hilarious (I really, REALLY love Hula Hoop). The balance games are super fun and oddly satisfying, and the yoga stuff is fantastic. The strength training stuff wouldn't do much for an athlete, but for someone who spends much of her day just sitting around talking to people, I think it's fantastic. My arms hurt today. I can't do very many push-ups.
My whole family likes Wii Bowling. My father, who played his last video game back in the 80's when we had our Colecovision, was lured in by the strange siren song of watching yourself bowl ON YOUR TV. So far, the whole family has bowled two out of the three days that we have had it.
All in all? It is another thing that has absolutely lived up to my crazy high expectations.
