She hates rainbows, too
My mom and I are sitting here, me on my laptop reading about make-up application tips, her reading a book on the couch, flanked by two dogs, with QVC on in the background.
I am paying, like, NO attention to it, or to her, either, so I am not aware she has stopped reading and started watching.
Imagine my surprise when, as I am sitting here quietly in the rocking chair, studying up on eyeliner tricks, she suddenly exclaims,
"I HATE BUTTERFLIES!"*
Also, I am so, just... hopelessly down lately. For the past month or two, I've just not been able to shake this. Please tell me it's just the dissertation stress. Disstresstation? That's good. Distresstation. Because it has "stress" and "distress" in there. And "stat".
* They were selling a handbag with a huge silver butterfly on it, and the entire thing looked like a fourth-grader's lunch bag.
