Sick and tired of being sick and tired
I thought my son was finally cured of the cold that settled on him last Thursday. He spent Friday through Tuesday home with me, and we thought we had it licked. He returned to school on Wednesday, with nary a symptom. Last night, he refused dinner and went to bed at 5:30. This morning, though he wolfed down his cereal, he threw it up an hour later. Though it's almost dinner time again, he hasn't repeated the process. He hasn't eaten either. All I can get him to drink is water. He's also got some nasty scratches on his face from his own fingernails, trying (we believe) to stop a nosebleed in his sleep. Now that I've medicated all his symptoms, I feel powerless while waiting for him to heal. I guess I just need to hear "This too shall pass."
BTW, I'm also currently suffering with the cold he gave me. I'm on day 6....
There isn't enough chicken broth in the world to soothe my throat. Zinc supplements are supposed to help, but as I am on Day 6...I am a little discouraged.
