You're always a little kid when it comes to telling your parents scary news

Yup. Finally had the big talk face to face with my parents.

And yes I was incredibly anxious.

I'd only told them about me and Huon separating over the phone a few weeks ago. It was a brief conversation. Not entirely reassuring.

So on Sunday I left the cosy little cottage I'd been house sitting/hiding in with Andrew, got home in time to shower and change clothes, and then sat down to spill all my guts out.

Told them the truth about why Huon and I are over, how long ago it happened, why I held off telling them, and that I was now dating Andrew.

Aaaaand... they were completely fine. Completely understanding.

Told me they still consider Huon family, and really want to meet Andrew. Mum remembers him from the bad old days, Da doesn't.

Actually my Mum realised something was going on between us when Andrew came with me to visit her in hospital. She said he was much nicer now than she remembered him being ten years ago.

Yes and so say all of us.

So it's officially as official as it will ever get, and everything is fine.

To say I feel relieved in an understatement.

I'm a lucky lady.
