Hullo everyone. I'm back. Soon we will have webbing at home so I will not disapear over the weekends. So.... what has been happening in the world of me?

My back has decided to play up again. I know I shouldn't complain too much since I have had over 18 months of relative comfort after decades of pain, but, well, it hurts, so I'm going to complain all I want. Lost thursday night and friday in a blurry mercyndol haze. No work on friday for me. Stayed at home and looked forlornly at boxes that needed unpacking.

Today I am back at work and back to being a pain killer junkie. Only over the counter stuff so far, I've left the prescription stuff at home for now.

Saturday morning the man came and fixed our dishwasher and the tiles and various other stuff. Yay dishwasher! After he was done we loaded up the car for a trip to canberra to visit Huons folks. Huons volatile sister Jenna was there, and was put out when we said we didn't want to go and 'do something', that we were happy just sitting and chatting and catching up with his folks. It's something that Huon has taken from visits with my parents and it makes me happy. We find all sorts of things to talk about. So Jenna left in a huff which suited us just fine. HUons other sister, the nice one, came over for dinner and good food and wine was consumed before a an early to bed night. They had replaced the spare bed mattress, which made my back very happy.

Sunday morning was very cold, so we stayed in bed and giggled and wrestled and cuddled for an hour or so. After breakfast we decided to go shopping in Manuka. Strange quiet little place. None of the shops open before 11am on a sunday. We did manage to find an open chocolate shop and a bookstore so that made us happy. I bought a very exciting book. The complete chronicles of Conan! Yay swordy trash! And big! It will keep me going for weeks. it's been a while since I've had new book. Joy.

Afterwards was taking the parentals to the Swans game. It was really cold! A top of 11°C. But we rugged up and yelled a lot. And the Swans romped it home wonderfully, even though Barry couldn't seem to hold onto a ball all day. We drove home fairly soon after. The citroén is a pleasure to go in long trips. She just cruises along at 115 k's an hour, purring away while I recline in my big armchair of a seat. We were home in time to watch The Worst Jobs in History before falling into bed.

Due to the lovely birthday gift from Huons parents and our rental bond being returned very quickly Huon and I recieved stacks of money on the weekend, which we sensibly and immediately put onto our debts. Paid off and cut up one credit card, and made big extra payments onto our other one and onto our loan. It's amazing how good making extra payments onto debts feels. I'm going to try and do it more often.

And the best bit there was a little bit left over that we are dividing up between us for a little shopping spree. Hrmm What shall I buy?

money, weekend, ramble
