fic: Of Recoil and Grace; extended author's notes & thank you
In which my gratitude knows no bounds.
Absolutely first and foremost, I need to and desperately want to shower thanks on imigination. She convinced me to sign up, thus giving me a sound nudge towards completing a big bang challenge, which has been on my fandom to-do list for ages. And then she sat with me from conception, through the process of writing it, before dedicating herself to thoughtful final notes on the finished version. She was an outstanding beta, a stellar alpha, with insight and comments to spark new ideas and inspire new perspective. She was a stalwart supporter through my surely irritating rants, and a brilliant friend, taking, creating and sharing pleasure in the whole process. I can't even really sum up properly how helpful she was, and how many pieces of this fic are refined and made what they are by having been under the care of her sharp eyes. And all this, while working away on her own brilliant big bang and humbling me at every turn. You're such a golden rockstar, girlie ♥___♥
la_esmeralda_ was generous enough to take on my fic and dedicate her amazing graphics skills to it. Not only did she create four absolutely stunning pieces which are utterly breathtaking and beautifully emotive, more than I ever dreamed of seeing related to this fic, but she also was kind enough to offer me her insights as alpha, making suggestions and comments from which I benefited greatly in the way I viewed and tackled pieces of this story. Vous êtes une préférée, mon petit chou (if I messed up the french, it's the translation site's fault. I am not so spontaneously fluent as you ;) ♥
and_i has acted as beta for me on previous works, and her sound advice and comments then really helped shape the way I write now, particularly when looking at characterization; I am ever grateful... And awaiting the day she makes her glorious return to Merlin fandom. ...Hopefully this is something for which she can be at least marginally pleased to hear, and does not in fact - I say in some trepidation - read this fic and think, "Oh good lord no" ;D
anjali_organna and _autumncolours were both sudden, last minute delights as we fretted over summaries and general big bang postage together, before they switched gears and were incredibly helpful with their honest feedback and suggestions in the summary composition.
