That was sweet. I liked the lighthearted way Merlin and Gwen were around each other. In a way, Arthur is the poor one while they have riches! Great job.

I think that Gwen and Merlin's friendship ought to be explored a bit more on the show, I think she plays more a role in grounding him than we realise. ... Then again, any Gwen development would be nice! Thanks for reading!

Yes indeedie. Gwen is certainly the moral compass within Camelot. At least, the most reliable moral compass. I think that Gaius deserves credit for trying, he really does intend to do what's best, whereas the Dragon is just entirely out for his own agenda.

Agreed. Gwen deserves the opportunity to really show her colours independently. And there's a large part of me that would like to see her tested.

I think that Merlin's friendship with Gwen is something they should explore a bit more on the show; I've a feeling she's more important to him than we may realise. Then again, almost anything Gwen needs more exploration. Thanks for commenting XD!

That was very sweet - the simpleness and yet beauty of the whole situation, and the silent (and slightly envious, haha) observer. Two wonderful touches was the "for the love of camelot" (I always got the impression it was their mutual love of the city that will really bring them together) and Merlin's question.
It felt a little bit unfinished there towards the end, but otherwise I loved it.

Thank you for the feedback! Ahh you've caught my main irritation with this fic: the ending. I couldn't decide what Arthur would do next, and so thought I could get away with letting the reader decide. Will not be so clumsy next time *L*

I think you're right that it will be their love of the city to bring them together. Gwen's shown she has a knack for leadership, but she's only had one opportunity to display it so far. Arthur already has great potential, obviously. I figure with Gwen, they'd be a force to be reckoned with. But I'm biased ;D
