Could everyone please keep New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast in their thoughts and prayers tonight? There's so many people that don't have transporation to get out of the city, and can't get to the stadium for shelter. This disgustingly huge hurricane will most likely destroy these beautiful cities.....New Orleans may be underwater for a long time. I can't believe I may never be able to visit the same New Orleans again.
One of the worst natural disasters ever to hit the US:
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050829/ap_on_re_us/katrina_the_big_one I'm expecting the worse for my dad's house on Bay St.Louis, MS beach. But at least I know he, my stepmom, their dogs and all our close friends/family are out of harms way. Although I'm not as optimistic about their homes, or the city of New Orleans, in general. I don't know if I'll ever be able to go to City Park or the Jackson Square in the French Quarter, in New Orleans again. The beautiful, old city I was born in and travel to at least twice a year will be completely different than what I remember. I hope the man who's always painted in silver paint and freezes his position like he's walking his dog, who's actually FAMOUS with people who visit Bourbon Street (my dad has seen him there for about 20-something years) is in a shelter or was able to get out of New Orleans.
I'm pretty sure watching the Weather Channel religiously isn't a good idea...but I think I feel worse if I don't know what's exactly going on when it happens, because it's all I can think about anyway.
Everyone will know tomorrow.
