after careful thought...
i figured out why will smith wears mostly leather in irobot.
leather jackets have been the epitome of cool since like the 50's (aaayyyy)
and they havent gone out of style since. i mean, yes, a different type of person is now dedicated to the leather jacket image. bikers, nerds who wear those little black sunglasses and slick back their black hair, and the occasional old guy whose wives wont let them have a motorcycle so they get a leather jacket and maybe a harley davidson license plate.
but in the year 2031, or whatever year irobot took place will smith rocks a crooked leather beanie, a leather jacket and leather pants. obviously in the future regular joes have realized the more leather you wear the cooler you are. even if you are sitting in ball soup most of the day. you are still cooler than the guy whos wearing khakis.
now im not saying im going to start wearing a leather jacket or pants but if you find yourself struggling to be cool, the leather is still a good choice. just ask will smith.
