A Scandal in Belgravia

HOLY HELL, what did I just watch? I mean, I'm pretty sure I wiped my jaw off the floor by the end. Just...THE WOMAN. That infernal, blasted, wonder of a woman. And the ridiculous levels of sex that is Benedict Cumberbatch...and yes, yes, to everything that episode chooses to be.

I'm not actually sure I've mentioned Sherlock on my LJ before, due to my being so inactive. I am a fan of the Sherlock Holmes stories, own the complete collection, and have read through them all at least twice, favorites several times more. But given how truly fanatical the fanbase for SH is, I don't talk about it much, because I realize I am just a superficial fan. Still, I'm familiar enough with the source material to catch many of the in-jokes and nod to the original, and not enough of a purist to be bothered when they depart. And mostly, just spend the whole time in awe of how completely Sherlock Holmes it is, and especially *he* is.

But this episode. I mean, Irene Adler. I couldn't wait to see what they did with one of the best stories in the whole canon. And...just...WOW. Shipping them so hard right now. Please, tell me, there is, or soon will be fic. (I mean, specifically for BBC's Sherlock; I know that for het shippers of SH, they're already pretty much all there is to find.)

And next up is Baskervilles, my hands-down favorite of the stories, the one that I read on a stormy night at age twelve and didn't sleep nightmare-free for a week after. SO HAPPY.

otp, sherlock
