Merlin Finale (& S4 in general)

Okay, I have not posted at all on series 4 of Merlin. This is not because I have not been watching, it is not because I haven't had things to say. It is because a) I am lazy, and b) Everyone else has been hating on it, and I didn't care to read negative opinions while I was enjoying it so thoroughly. And since I didn't want to read other peoples'

I sort of loved the finale, fwiw, and the coronation scene made me forget the minor other quibbles I had. I'm pretty happy about it.

As soon as the throne room doors opened in the same shot from Morgana's vision, I pretty much passed out from joy. I know there's been way too much hate for Arthur/Gwen this year--even from people who call themselves A/G fans--but I have loved Merlin's take on them all the way. And to end with their marriage was such a thrilling validation of it. Such a long time coming, and they had both been through so much, and grown so much to reach this point where they are completely ready to rule this nation and lean on each other was the best Christmas present I got. :D
