Character's Name: Feferi Peixes
Series: MS Paint Adventures: HOMESTUCK
Timeline: Around 3:14:00 on the mysterious countdown; pre-introduction to the science wand and the horn pile, if you catch my drift.

Personality: There are three important aspects of Feferi’s character that sums her up well:
1) Her race. She’s a troll. Trolls sure are weird. No, they really are. Not even kidding.
2) Her position. Her blood, a lovely shade of violet, makes her the heir of the Alternian empire. In fact, her blood color is far more pure than HER IMPERIOUS CONDESCENSION, which actually means she’s got more of a claim on the throne than the empress. However, the only reason she hasn’t been violently culled to protect the current ruler is her lusus (guardian thing), GL'BGOLYB. ALSO KNOWN AS THE SPEAKER OF THE VAST GLUB. So dramatic. But this means she’s grown up with a relative sense of safety and duty.
The safety shines through via her willingness to act on ideas and actions impulsively. You see this multiple times-like when speaking with Terezi in Alterniabound, she’s all for fighting the demon, despite the fact that a bajillion doomed Aradiabots had been destroyed in order to give the trolls enough time to escape. Instead of coming up with a plan, she claims that the humans are the key to solving the issue and is pretty damn insistent on it. Another good example is when she’s just like “JADE I WANT TO CHECK OUT YOUR BUNNY ===> FEFERI: PROCEED TO CHECK OUT BUNNY.” Despite this, she has the capability to think things through, especially when dealing with other people (as opposed to actions). Like with her first conversation with Jade, she explains to Jade a) It’s not your fault and b) sets up the dream bubble idea that she uses in the future for them to meet. Both of these reveal that people’s feelings are important to Feferi, and that it’s imperative to have people know what’s going on even if Jade completely forgot about the conversation before the dream bubble thing took place.
Another one of her safety things is how comfortable she feels around scary things. While, yes, trolls lack a lot of the fears that humans do, Feferi takes it to the extreme-completely trusting the Horrorterrors and caring for Gl’bolyb despite everyone’s (humans and trolls) fear of them. The only thing she really complains about is the difficulty of keeping Gl’bolyb’s voice down, as opposed to the whole IT IS A NINE MILLION BAJILLION FOOT LONG MONSTER THAT ORPHANS BABBY TROLLS AND COULD COMPLETELY DESTROY THE TROLL RACE WITH ONE SHOUT. And the fact that previous to the beginning of Hivebent, it whispered snippets of the future to her.
When looking at duty, the most obvious example is her redefinition of “to cull.”
According to the World English Dictionary:
- vb 1. to choose or gather the best or required examples
2. to take out (an animal, esp an inferior one) from a herd
3. to reduce the size of (a herd or flock) by killing a proportion of its members
4. to gather (flowers, fruit, etc)
5. to cease to employ; get rid of
- n 6. the act or product of culling
7. an inferior animal taken from a herd or group
3 and 5 are probably the most accurate in troll society.
According to Feferi Peixes:
- vb 1. Caring for the unfit and infirm
2. Putting Cuttlefish into cages that they can easily swim out of
3. Loving, grooming, and training aquatic Hoofbeasts
4. Roleplaying some sort of wildlife conservationist, despite the complete lack of conservation needed
5. Uniting the two troll species (despite Gl’bolyb’s warning that all trolls besides the 12 main would die)
- n 6. the act or product of culling
If it weren’t for SGRUB, Feferi was planning on completely changing the caste system and hierarchy of Alternia. By introducing social obligations to the unfit and infirm, all while reuniting the land and sea dwellers, FEFERI HAD PLANS. ALL THE PLANS. Previous to this, though, there were two main ways she fulfilled her duty to protect trolls. The first was keeping Gl’bolyb fed. When her lusus was hungry, its voice became louder. The louder the voice, the more trolls would die beginning with the lower blood castes. She fed her lusus the bodies of other troll’s lusus’ that Eridan killed (the trolls themselves would often by fed to Vriska’s lusus, the spidermom). Basically, she was orphaning trolls out of necessity to protect them all. Another way we see this is via her Moirallegiance with Eridan. Because of his constant attempts to wipe out all land dwellers, Feferi saw it as her duty to keep him in line. As soon as the game started and Alternia was gone, she broke her Moirallegiance with Eridan because he was a bit too high maintenance. She kept with him, despite having to deal with his CAPSLOCK HARRY POTTER 5TH BOOK attitude all the time to protect her people.
3) Glub glub glub. Glub! Glub glub glub!! IT IS VERY HARD TO NOT GET EXCITED ABOUT EVERYTHING. FISH PUNS EVERYWHERE. THIS IS SO SWIMMINGLYISMSKIWHATEVER.
But seriously. One of her first commands is "FEFERI: DO SOMETHING ADORABLE." However, that command is impossible to fulfill, due to the fact that she is in a constant state of adorable.
Powers & Abilities: Because of her high caste position, she is a sea dweller. Despite this, she can live on the land, too.
She’s no Nicholas Cage, but considering the 600 hours the trolls spent on furiously leveling up, Feferi is pretty damn strong. Even before gaining ALL THE LEVELS, she had the skills to STRONGJUMP out of her fishbowl and straight into the first portal without having to build up her hive, like most everyone else.
She’s also the Witch of Life, which no one is really sure what that means. Whoops. However, she is also a princess of Derse (like all the kids and their respective dream worlds), and that means she has the ability to bring people back from the dead via a kiss (HOW ROMANTIC~*~*~*)
She also has the impressive ability of sleeping on Gamzee’s hornpile. That takes skill, man. Skill.
What items will they be bringing with them? Her Strife Specibus is 2x3dentkind, so she’ll be bringing her trident, Ψdon's Entente. NO ONE KNOWS HER FETCH MODUS.
