im bored off my ass right now, so i think i should update this... but im not really quite sure what to talk about.... msu is great but has its flaws, i guess you could say... you want to explode with excitement, but since its your life, theres also that, "yeah, im here, cool." sort of feeling. the hawaii game was freaking awesome, just before the team runs out, "thunderstruck" starts playing...the big screen in the stadium plays a clip of the sparty statue comming to life after being hit by a thunderbolt...his eyes glow green... everyone cheers... then, still a bronze statue, he puts his helmet on and jumps to the ground... people start screaming... then, it shows the opposing teams signature icon, like, the big H for hawaii.. everybody boo's.... and then the bronze spartan slices through it with his sword, and people go absolutely crazy. scream as loud as you can and you'll never hear yourself... its one of the greatest feelings ever i swear. thousands of people going absolutely ballistic. everyone acts like they just ate a condensed ball of adrenaline... and washed it down with a good amount of beer....and it carries the attitude on throughout the game, with various chants and mass hand gestures... awesome...
theres also the random pointless drinking that goes on... like, people not having anything to do, so they whip out a fifth... and then the people across the hall do it, and then you get a bunch of drunk friends on a thursday night banging heads on doors and running -while screaming at the top of their lungs with underwear on their heads - through the halls... which results in some of the most idiotic - and hilarious, things ive ever seen... maybe its just the floor im on.. yeah... probably
crew starts soon, and im trying for the msu paintball team.. theres actually a varsity team isnt that sweet???? and joined the outing club, cause i want to go ice climbing this winter..
i cant really complain about my classes either... mostly just ap repeat classes, which makes my life easier, if not more boring.
the gym is right across the street and that is incredibly convienient and definitely helps keep the excercise up, which in turn makes you more pumped to stay on your eating regimen, which is great, hopefully the only freshman 15 i gain is muscle. that would be soo sweet. and theres always someone on the floor willing to go work out... speaking of that,
i lucked out with the guys on my floor, it seems to be the exception of the stereo type that "holmes kids are a bunch of geeks"... no.. on the contrary, it seems everyone on my floor (save like six.. but big deal) is very very very athletic, constantly working out, and everyone has played either soccer, tennis, football or hockey during highschool - or they're body builders, or majoring in nutrition... not to mention everyone is really down to earth... which will be priceless once we're all cramped up in our dorms during the winter.... the girls in holmes are another story... the only semi-social ones seem to be up on the 6th floor.. and they have a downright unhealthy obsession with mtv. for the most part (there are a few exceptions) the others seem to like being recluses resorting to movie nights and antisocial tendencies.. i swear they wouldnt even know their roommates if they didnt have to... i walked around trying to give out the brownies that my mom made me.. she made a TON!... and i think i scared the S*&$ out of them just saying "hi, would you like a brownie?" all they did was stare. im suprised they looked up from their chem books but the stare was sort of creepy... like, dead corpse mixed with deer in the headlights... do i look that scary? its not like (if i were a pothead) i would waste my drugs on them...sigh... spartans do *NOT* watch movies and surf the internet on weekends unless your sick.... we have fun... like, drink, or watch drunks, or walk down grand river, or go eat out, or go to the movie theater, or go to one of the million student activites that happen each night.
the upperclassmen are really cool here too... now, i dont know if thats because im used to hanging out with people older than me, (like nicole!!!!!! come visit!!!) or for some other reason.. i duno.
police on horseback are scary as heck. they look ridiculously intimidating... god forbid your carrying a coke can that they mistake for a beer can.
apparently, some kid tried to run from them last weekend, and they whipped out the extendable billy clubs and smacked the back of his head like a polo ball, and dragged his unconcious ass back to the station. i think youd have to be retarded to run from a horse.
dont run from horses.
well.. with that piece of Miss-cleo-like advice, i think im done rambling... and im actually tired to the point where i can get some sleep now..
Im ron burgundy,
and you stay classy michigan
