Basically, I am working a lot and taking care of my home and family. My kid is calling me SuperMom. I still write a bit, but I'm not happy with what I am writing. I'm reading a lot, instead of going out and about. I just finished an historical novel set in WWII-era Japan and I just started the autobiography of Katharine Graham (of the Washington Post).
I stay home to conserve energy. Sometimes I don't even have the energy to read, so I watch public television, cable news and movies (mostly movies) and comedy (love to laugh).
If I feel up to going out, then I go to the library or the gym or church, which energizes me. Mind-Body-Spirit. On my last visit to the library, I picked up the CD Moody Bluegrass, (which makes me laugh).
Saturday night, my daughter and I went out to Babbo's on 16th Street. It was delightful, and the first time in a long time that my daughter and I went anywhere, just the two of us. I ordered Babbo's Bowl O' Bolognese and a Caesar Salad; she ordered Penne Pasta Florentine and Firecracker Rolls. Our meal was accompanied by all the Bruschetta Romana we could eat and an attentive waiter who did not call me Ma'am.
Yes, friends, I think I saw Heaven peaking through the lovely mountain view.
I am just now emerging from the overtime cocoon, with tonight plans, tomorrow plans and Saturday plans times two! Life is good(er).
