Neither "puss" nor "hippy"

If this discussion is to go anywhere then it must be attempted to make it constructive, or else I'll just get rid of the responses. I'm far too fucking busy to devote all my time to an internet debate where the protaganist remains anonymous. For one, I already have a good idea of who it is and they shouldn't feel threatened unless they plan on escalating the situation so that it is physical. I mean seriously, don't you think mentioning who pays for my schooling makes it obvious that I've met you before? I've never mentioned that on LJ. Most people would take a free ride to go to school if they got a chance, and I'd be a fool not to. In fact, my pizza delivery job could pay for school, so maybe you'd like to put in an application. I thought we were friends, which shows how far your gang has corrupted you. Now you want to leave anonymous, accusational posts in MY journal, for no other reason than to try and clown me? I think it is you who is getting shown up.

I've never proposed that people should have limitless freedom. I believe that we should all be free as long as we do not infringe on the rights of others to be free (like rape, domination, imprisonment, (wage) slavery, etc.). Freedom of speech? What about freedom from harassment? Talk all you want about freedom of speech, of the Constitution, etc, I don't give a fuck. It's not like you said anything profound, or like you've been punched in the mouth for speaking your mind. Your manuscripts have not been burned. You seem to be having a nice time posting a lot of irrelevant shit to my journal, dodging the issues, and hiding your identity.

"If you want something earn it" is a bullshit capitalist mantra that you must've swallowed from a 3rd grade economics book. There are plenty of people out there who work hard and die from starvation, disease, war, and workplace accidents. The ruling class would like you to be able to think that you have a chance at success if you toe the line, behave, and work hard. All that is going to get you is a stab in the back when they feel like keeping you around is too risky for them. What makes you think that you have more in common with the rich assholes who exploit you than other oppressed people around the world? "If you want something do it" should be your motto. Don't rely on others for things that you can do yourself. I mean, solidarity is important but those people in power will want to stay in power and make you dependent on them. Who decides when you've "earned" something, and how does one go about it? Shouldn't we have a say in the decisions that affect us and our future? You can't keep your means and ends seperate, so what you do now will effect what happens in the future.

I own things because some things are necessary in life. Guns are important to have for self-defense. They are a great equalizer against those who may have bigger muscles or run faster. There is a definate difference between possesions and property. The biggest difference is that PROPERTY IS USED TO EXPLOIT PEOPLE. My car is a possession, I do not exploit people with it and use it for selfless things. My guns are not property because I do not exploit or repress people with them. Besides that, the "proof" that you offered is little more than saying 'probably', and then saying that somehow I have proved your uneducated guess!

Anarchism is not oligarchy or mob rule. Just because your gang will try and take power, fuck people over, and hurt a lot of people for their own benefit does not mean anarchist organizations will try and dominate or be dominated. You really should look into the history of dual power, worker's councils, and grassroots community organizations before you try to say what has (or for that matter, will) happen. Yes, people will have conflict with other people. Life has many conflicts, and utopia is just that, that which is unatainable. I've never said that I wanted a "utopia", just a human society based on sustainability and human needs, where those that are directly effected by decisions also have a say (see direct democracy and direct action).

Anarchists definatly want to work towards building a grassroots mass movement. We know, as you may not, that one cannot be created out of thin air or be 'controlled' if it is to be truly liberatory in it's goals and aspirations. I think it is you who doesn't understand what anarchism is, it's history, or our positions on vanguardist politics. I encourage you to go to www.infoshop.org and click on the "anarchist faq" link to learn more. For now I have to go and catch the bus so I can go home and do homework.
