I started another term of school. This term I'm taking Physics 212-with calculus, Econ 314, and Statics -eas 211. My first physics class was canceled and my econ class was inexplicably canceled today, so i've just been fucking around on the computer since like 12:20. It lets me catch up on a lot of reading though and there is a ton more I can probably read. Thats good though, it keeps me busy. Not like there is ever a shortage of anything to do. I wish the clear skies and cold would have lasted until tommorow or sunday, then I could have done work for my grandpa and make $15 an hour, which is about what I make at pizza hut, give or take a couple of bucks. Speaking of work I heard of a union for delivery drivers, so I think i'm going to do some covert organizing at work and maybe we can become unionized. My only problem is that it might not cover our cooks, who are helpful and not in a position of authority. With them on our side then we would be a more powerful force. Did you all know that pizza delivery driving is the 5th most dangerous job?
Occupation Fatalities per 100,000
Timber cutters 117.8
Fishers 71.1
Pilots and navigators 69.8
Structural metal workers 58.2
Drivers-sales workers 37.9
Roofers 37
Electrical power installers 32.5
Farm occupations 28
Construction laborers 27.7
Truck drivers 25
I have no intention of working myself to death! The kind of industrial slaughter that goes on every year is fucking ridiculous. If you take in other countries, especially ones with weaker regulations and enforcement, the death toll stands even higher. Really, the bosses are fighting a class war whether we choose to oppose them or not.
