[ This milk situation.. Well, there was a rather easy solution to it now thanks to recent events. And while Eva hadn't really been fond of said events (to put it very, very lightly), they had brought her something good. Like an easy way to get through this event ( Read more... )

If they had any items from home, those would have disappeared were they permanently droned. As for the milk, I know of spiders and hallucinations.

... I see.

[ That's all she has to say on the first part - it means Hideyoshi really is gone forever. Somewhere deep down she already realised it. ]

Are the spiders particularly dangerous aside from being.. well, spiders in milk? And do you know what kind of hallucinations the milk can cause? [ Her tone is very cold, down-to-business like. It's how she distracts herself from the droning. ]

I haven't heard of them being any more virulent than normal spiders, if that is what you are asking. As for hallucinations... [He trails off here. He only knows of his own for sure, and needs a moment to figure out the best way to explain it. Finally, he speaks.] When I had mine, it was of something I feared occurring.

Something you feared.. Hm, so it's not more than the usual business here, is it? [ Her tone turns a little bitter. ]

They're just amusing themselves by showing our worst fears to us again.

Yes... The town doesn't have many tricks when you think about it. Unfortunately, it doesn't make things any less real when they do occur.

... That's right. Being able to rely on the ability to predict the sort of effects this town will dish out doesn't really help to bear them now, does it..?

Unfortunately not. We can only home they slip up during these times, or others, and reveal things to us they never intended to.

I've seen that much before.. From the occasional slips in conversations you can hear from them, it seems they don't always have everything in a row as well, right..?

Perhaps it's just a matter of time before we find a weak spot that will allow us to escape this hellish place.

Yes, you are correct. There have been a handful of times since I arrived that slips have been heard, and that an implication that not all is peaceful among the rulers exists. With such a thing, a 'government' shall not last long.

Well, they've been keeping it up for a reasonable amount of time now, for all their mistakes.. But it can't last that way forever, hopefully.

I don't believe they will be able to. The only thing that will truly effect things, is how strong their desire to live or control is.

Ah, that's true.. In that sense, it's just a battle between all our collective wills and theirs, right?

That's correct. And we technically have one advantage over them on that; they continue to bring in new people who often dislike this place, while they themselves remain static.

But at the same time, they have the power to drone powerful allies, even permanently at times.. I'm sure they make sure to at least keep the power scales somewhat in balance.

Hmm... [chaos goes quiet, thoughtful for a few moments] Although that may be true, the discord among them is still a grave issue. Sadly, I admit that we have such a thing as well, considering it is none too hard to get some of us to turn against the others.
