Wow, I hadn't realized I haven't updated for a month. Well, I can honestly saw that a lot has happened within a month's time.
New Year's was mellow. Some of the family came and just hung out. I got to see my uncle before he left to go back to Ft. Bragg. Then a few days after that my family and I went down there to see him off because he was getting deployed to Iraq...again. Longer this time too: 9 months instead of 6. On our way back home we checked out Washington D.C., which was very cool. We tried to fit everything in one day, but that was impossible. I think we're going to go back though and get a tour of the White House.
Steelers have won their playoff games, which has made me very happy. We haven't been to the Super Bowl in 10 years, so this is really something. All I know is that they're going to do everything in their power to win that game because it would be just awesome for Jerome Bettis to get his ring and retire in his hometown.
This past week hasn't been as great. On Wednesday my great grandmother on my mom's side had a really bad stroke. The doctors didn't think she was going to make it, so after all the family had a chance to say goodbye they pulled the plug on the oxygen. They were just waiting for her to quit breathing. Well, it happened Friday morning. My great grandfather's not taking it well. He was really, really bad Altimerz(sp?), so he wakes up every morning calling for his wife. The craziest thing was that my mother was trying to get a hold of the uncle that's in Iraq to tell him and he ended up calling her. He just had a feeling that he should call home. How weird is that? Anyway, so he just called and he says that he's in Ireland right now; he's on his way home. His commander or leader, whatever he's called, is giving him two weeks leave. So things are a bit crazy here and I don't think it's going to stop. This year isn't getting off to a good start. :(
