(no subject)
Who uses this website anymore? that question is probably redundant in a sense as I can find the answer out to my question by checking friends updates.
I go to University of Waterloo now. University is cooler than expected, perhaps because my professors are all really cool, my classes rule, and I have met a lot of great people during my time there so far. Through going to UW I have also gained the opportunity to meet a lot of people from different cultures that I will never get to experience and perhaps will never meet people of these cultures ever again once I join the work force after completion of degree(s). UW is extremely multicultural as people from all over the world decide to go to it as it is a great school for a very wide variety of disciplines. It's cool that I get to experience their culture in a small sense when I socialize with them as it is inarguable that their culture has helped defined a large part of who they are and what they enjoy. I have met a lot of friends who are Canadians and from Ontario too.
My life has not changed as dramatically as I expected it to, but I have less time to hangout with some people I would do out of boredom/association by recreational activities that I no longer have time to participate in. This does not mean I don't socialize anymore because I probably party harder than ever now and frequent cool bars/friends residences/houses but just have a strict and definitive balance of work and party. I'm staying slightly ahead in my studies and probably do about 3 hours of homework a day now, it's really not all too bad when you really enjoy what you're studying and are enthusiastic about it. I have a lot of cool classes involving psychology and social sciences, politics, peace & conflict studies.
When you first go to University you learn really how little you know about the world (depending on your faculty I guess).
I sometimes debate my selection as I really wanted to move to Toronto as I did get accepted to U of T and Ryerson but I think I made the right decision so far in because UW rules so far. I am going to visit my friend at the Ryerson residence that was once a hotel and is now a university student residence.
I have a sweet 2007 Toyota Corolla now too. it gets me places in efficient style for an economy class car.
I also went to Tampa this summer for a month and saw GBH down there. It was a really great experience all in all.
