The Secret
Those of you who have heard me discuss Oprah know that she kind of annoys me. Her book club in particular drives me nuts.
Still, nothing she's done has made me lose all respect for her until now.
Twice now on her show she's promoted a book called The Secret. The Secret is that if you want something badly enough and put out good thoughts, the universe will manifest it for you (though the first step is accepting Jesus Christ into your heart as your own personal saviour, natch).
I guess this means I can stop giving money to Doctors Without Borders. If kids in war torn countries don't have access to surgeons or drugs or even food, it's not because of lack of infrastructure and unsafe conditions, it's because they don't want these things badly enough. That's their problem, not mine.
