So I am dieing to get my next tattoo.
I was thinking that the most logical next tat would be the Deathly Hallows on my foot because it'll be pretty cheap, but I want the poppy on my sturnim (pretty much the breast bone, not a chest piece, right where your bra is in the front) wicked bad. They are so beautiful, and I think that the pop of red on my skin will look amazing. I cant deside now if I want art nouveau style or realistic.
Reasons for a poppy:
To me personally, they represent a wild freedom and beauty, I feel like they represent me, or how I want to be. Powerful, beautiful, addictive (opium), wild, free. They are also my favorite flower and my birth flower. In history they represent death. Sometimes used as an offering to the dead. Eternal Sleep, reserrection after death. They thrive in disturbed soil, like battle fields, which reminds me of a Modest Mouse song lyric that I love: "Slight of hand wont seperate your body from the dirt youre standing on today", which sums up pretty well how I feel about death and the "circle of life" so to speak (and a bit about god and religion too, and it would be awesome if I could incorperate that lyric into the tatto as well)
I think that that would make up for the spur of the moment tattoo that I have now. Ive been thinking about this one for a long ass time, so I don't think that I will regret it.
