ANYONE READING THIS IS FREE TO CORRECT ME IF I MAKE ERRORS; CONFUSION AHEADmade_in_wonderApril 18 2011, 23:03:35 UTC
Oh, god, nerdy antiquity collecter YnB. In the sweater from season 1. WHY CAN I SEE IT.
I have the whereabouts of the bulk of Zorc pretty much down: Zorc is primarily in the Puzzle, with a little bit in the Ring. He put himself in the Ring, but Atem put him in the Puzzle (though the argument could conceivably be made that there's a little bit of Zorc in each Item via the nature of their creation, and by some of the things Zorc says in vol. 6 about what exactly he is to begin with). Monster!Zorc is an NPC. He doesn't even know who Yuugi is. YnB!Zorc is a little rogue piece that's just been chillin' in the Ring to orchestrate the victory of the sealed part in the Puzzle. Aknadin!Zorc is the bulk of Zorc, the part sealed in the Puzzle, and thus the game cannot end until he is defeated.
"Zorc Necrophades" I think is his full name, with "High Priest of Darkness" being a moniker that refers specifically for the guise he takes when he's melded himself with Aknadin - ie, the part of him that's playing along as YnB's partner in the game. So by the time Aknadin gets his fancy evil outfit, there is almost no "Aknadin" left - the human soul has been consumed by the Zorc soul. (Which I also see happening to TK, but. WE'LL DEAL WITH HIM LATER.) And it's the fact that Aknadin's mummy is "playing" along as YnB's partner in GM-ing in our world that gives him access to Zorc's powers over controlling time.
My crack theory relies heavily on the idea that YnB has control over these powers and thus uses them once he knows the true nature of Memory World, sending himself back in time to inspire Ryou to build that damn diorama --- the way YnB's acting in volume 1 of MW ("THE PHARAOH IS NOT IN THE PUZZLE ANYMORE WAIT WUT") directly contradicts the OH HEY I HAD THIS ALL PLANNED OUT WITH THIS SECRET ROOM in later volumes, and that's the single biggest contradiction standing in the way of me being able to put together a nice little bundle of "who YnB is and what he knows at each point in time."
*GREAT BIG ENORMOUS BREATH*
So yeah. Three Zorcs at work in MW, if you count the monster, which really is just replaying what it did thousands of years ago without any of the knowledge YnB has picked up in the past few millennia. I AM SURE THERE IS SOMETHING SOMEWHERE THAT CONTRADICTS THIS, AND I SHALL DEAL WITH THAT IF I FIND IT, BUT FOR NOW THAT MAKES THE MOST SENSE.
And now, Marlicks! =D
That is a very good point about older nephews. Unless...oh god mali. I'm pretty sure the other threads are winding to natural conclusions as things stand, but we can give them a little more closure and then move on, methinks. Linner wants to clear his name! ;A; (<---hah)
Because it would work. Likely in no small part to YnB already being an uber collector of evilness souls and items. He can have an evil antiquities shop to complete the sweater compliment. Selling cursed items~ With or without a capital I.
...this needs a visual aid. like now. x-x Especially since the idea of three four five Bakurae running around during MW arc already broke my brain. But as for now, I shall buy this. For I cannot find fault. And the Lost-fan/dropped-fanfic-writer in me likes the idea of time traveling being an unsaid factor. Thought it's amusing that's where one logically goes to fix this mess. =P And I thought calculating when Duel Monsters was first released and the God Cards were made was bad.
But yes.
I'd fear for her. Badly. Yep. And~ chances are we can traumatize your Ishtar crew one by one over time, so whoever needs a dose of it at the moment-!
This is true. And closed off threads often make it easier to jump off into new ones even with different characters involved, imo. ...no idea why, just experience. xD And there's certainly thing to move on to, indeed!
