I technically read these chapters last night, but I'll skim back for a musing- they're too good in content to skip.
Duel 120 :: Full Strength
And we open back onto the Bakura-Marik stand off. Packaged with nice scenery & bike shots.
I am curious what Marik means by "what does he know" in relation to YnB having an Item. What's he expect him to know that's a problem? His own plans don't involve the items too much beyond abusing the Rod to high heaven, right? ...perhaps he suspected having an Item = YnB might actually be an ally of the Pharaoh (snrk!), given Shadi had the Key and his own people's traditional role guarding the Items? Who knows.
"So you're collecting them? But why..."
"Oh, I thought they'd sell better on eBay as a full set- Why the bloody hell do you think why?"

...I will never stop getting amusement out of "let's talk in private" becoming "let's talk out on an open pier in plain sight." YnB is amused too, though I suspect for different reasons.
Now this sequence, and YnB not knowing the name key, has me wondering what he knows and when and how he got that knowledge.
Marik, you wanting Yuugi's life, just after identifying him as the owner of the Puzzle, indicates you want to kill the host and not the Pharaoh... I'm going to go ahead and assume that's a translation issue again, since you're generally apathetic about killing Yuugi himself up until the pier battle. Also, it'd be a Bad Thing to say that since YnB is protecting him at this point for his own ends. Thus that look... And god I must chase those half-formed bunnies away.
It surprises me he'd want to drop the Rod so fast after he defeats the Pharaoh, given even with the "amazing power" of the God Cards he's built his Ghoul Empire around that mind control. Course, he could just be conning here. and man that image there
Back to a battle of minds on other watery shores- Jounouchi flounders against Ryouta. And wow, I haven't seen them use would-be environment facts like "flying monster will not fall into trap" since early early dueling days. Or else I've been blinking a lot.
Anzu's right, yelling Ryouta is not a good behavior reader.
...and I'll admit it, most his speech leaves me going "...how'd you get that message from that, Jounouchi?"
But whooo, I do like seeing Fairy Box. I don't use it, but I've faced many an NPC boss with it in game to give it Proper Respect. That's one gamble card I'll give Jounouchi a nod for using.
Even if we get more field things messing with its advan- no wait, Jounouchi still won the round.

And we have more Umi-card-use and Jounouchi pulling a nice comeback.
Most this has me wishing there was a real game equivalent to this sea combo. If less impossible.
I hope it comes to explain where those monsters are hiding though, if the water isn't moving.
....soooo, was that dueling all in the five minutes Marik waited? It almost fits, too.
Now why do I enjoy the fact that unlike Marik YnB has proper respect for the friend bonds of the Yuugi company? Granted, it's likely from the experience of dealing with it in Monster World arc, but whatever the reason, I like seeing a villain that respects the strengths of the heros' bonds even as he has no personal bonding interest, in favor of a villain that scoffs at them as only a weakness. That always has a specific result, while "I can't break that" acknowledgment means they need an alternative approach to divide and conquer.
Now what oh what YnB are you planning to do with that knife. It can't be exactly what I know it's going to be.
