I've been feeling very dizzy, nauseous and head-neck super-achy all day. I just went into the kitchen and noticed the gas was on. very early this morning I used the stove and forgot to turn it off (the flame went away right away). I have a slight cold, so I guess I didn't smell it, although I am breathing through my nose and could only smell it when I was in the kitchen.
We have a carbon monoxide detector, and this happened once before, but I thought that it was just "smart" enough to know that it wasn't fatal, because I was alone in the apt with my bedroom door shut. It blinks as if its working. But now I realize that last time if my roommate had been here...I don't remember if he had had his window open or not. And he was sleeping. Oops. LoL. And in the winter, he used an electric blanket and smoked all the time! ahh this is turing into "Final Destination".
That will either spook the landlord into handing over the security quicker, or it won't phase him at all. The kicker: by law we had to pay a fee for the detector to be installed, and the landlord is allowed to charge whatever he wants ($50).
Does anyone know the law concerning the hypothetical situation, it would be the landlord's fault for installing crappy detectors and having no ventilation systems, right? Not mine for just forgetting?
