Yeah, once again, I haven't been around in a while. Life has been kind of...getting in the way.
But while I'm here...there's something I saw last night that just about blew me away. O_O
So...It's been a long time since I bothered watching any of the Transformers series. Never got into Beast Wars, though I did see a few episodes. After that, I kind of lost track. And a while back I started re-watching the original miniseries from the '80s...and goddamn, it was terrible. I actually made the mistake of buying the 20th anniversary DVD of the '80s movie...and yeah, also terrible. Sometimes, things you loved in childhood should be left in your memories rather than re-experienced as an adult.
But then, just for the hell of it, I checked out Transformers Prime a few months ago. Amazingly, I thought it was quite good. Not aimed at little kids, either--there was some pretty dark and mature stuff going on in there.
And the episode I saw last night cranked it Up to Eleven. Jesus Christ. O_O It's got some stuff in it that might give some adults nightmares. I saw some parents on message boards talking about their kids being traumatized while watching it...which, for me, makes it even more awesome. ;)
