Somewhere along the lines my family has become obsessed with who shows up to children's birthday parties. Shouldn't it be about the kids?? It was always just my immediate family when I grew up. If my aunts and uncles showed up it was an awesome special occasion, but that was very rare. I was a greedy ass kid too so I'm sure I would have tried to milk everyone who showed up for a present. Now for EVERY niece or nephews birthday party we all HAVE to be there or it gets rescheduled.
Not with my kid. We accommodated a lot of different schedules for her 1st birthday. That's it.
