Here follows a list of dresses I want to make. Aside from that, I have two linen dresses that don't fit right which I want to alter to be v-necked dresses based on the The Wolfegg Housebook. I also have a few side-lacing dresses I am considering reworking to be front laced so that I can wear them right now. Ideally I would also like to make two linen quick-and-dirty Trossfrau dresses before Pennsic and a black and gold Saxon (Cranach) dress for Baronial Investiture.
V-neck dress with decorated deep front closure:
Albrecht Duerer, Lady on Horseback and Landsknecht. c. 1497 Saechsisches Stammbuch (1500-1540)
Israhel van Meckenem. Judith. c. 1495.
Albrecht Dürer. Young Woman Attacked by Death. c. 1495 V-neck dress:
Saechsisches Stammbuch (1500-1540) Dress with pleating extending over bust:
Albrecht Durer, Coat of Arms with Skull, 1503I recently saw another image with the same type of pleating.
Dress with pleating, v-closure, and chain holding it together:
Albrecht Dürer. The Cook and his Wife. c. 1497
Albrecht Dürer. The Ill-Assorted Couple. c. 1496 Dress with gathered pleating:
Israel van Meckenham, Marriage of Virgin, 1490Ivo Strigel, St Catherine, 1500Martin Schongauer. The Fourth Wise Virgin. c. before 1483 I would also like to alter a dress that closes in front with three clasps to include pleating. Currently it is much too big (it was a maternity dress that was big even then). The wool is very plain and dark, so I would also like to embellish it somehow to make the dress look nicer.
Martin Schongauer, Lady with Swan Coat of Arms, c. 1450/1491 That should keep me busy for a while. A long while.
