Proper nutrition and avoidance of pollutants are very important during the first stages of pregnancy, so maternity care must be lacking over there if you're seeing a lot of defects. I still think kids are cute.
It kind of was the same thing when I was in China, a lot of kids (beggars, esp.) had a lot of defects, scars, and malformations. Unfortunately these kids were being used as bait for tourist money . . . *shakes head sadly*
I totally agree that Walmart does not have good bread. I like handmade from scratch best. The smell is unlike any other.
Things in the homeland are dingy at best. Everyone is feeling the recession, even if gas went back under $2 because of the buy-out. At least people can drive to work without feeling the pinch. Then there's the "BUY STUFF TO SAVE THE ECONOMY" pitch we're getting from the media and commercials.
Lame-city.

I don't think it'll cost too much because shipping from U.S. to any of our military addresses is relatively inexpensive, am I right?
