Well, another year has gone by. This year, I've read 49 books with a total of 21,466 pages. I've also read
The New Yorker every week and
The Atlantic every month, both subscriptions courtesy my dad; and
Analog monthly, courtesy me. It doesn't count three books I've started but haven't finished yet, which is probably another 400-600 pages all told.
Last year, I read 69 books for a total of 24,056 pages, and the two dad subscriptions but no Analog. Am I getting slower in my old age?
I started counting this in earnest last year, because I realized I wasn't sure how much I was reading these days. I feel like I used to read a lot more, when I was younger, at least in terms of books, but then most of those books were 200-300 pages, so I could be making up in page volume what I'm losing in, er, volume volumes. I'm curious to see where it goes from here!
This does make me totally extra impressed with folks who resolve to read
100 books a year, though! I used to think I could do that, no trouble, but man, I can only do about half, it appears!
