Change of plans (Stevie)

Stef has written on her calendar to attend a noon meeting of AA today, even though the people there make her nervous. (I can't believe the turn her life has taken!)

If I'm still out front and in charge, we are *not* going. We're going to Ashland, and have a lovely time at the park, and some coffee.

She *never* belonged in AA. She was never an alcoholic. The other women there sense it, and pick her apart....and the men still tend to hit on her, in spite of her age. So she never feels comfortable.

Alex got something out of those meetings, and so did Lige....they both had drank too much, but I'm not sure either of them was ever an alcoholic. (I do believe there's a difference.)

I think the AA Steps and Traditions are fine....but those meetings can be quite something else.
(Won't go into my opinion of the meetings.)

Well. Again, if I stay out front and in charge, Stef has a change of plans.
If I don't, but I stay anywhere *near* the front, I still want us to go to the park and out for coffee soon.

(So much of what used to bring her joy in life, has been lost. I almost can't believe it.)
